Oya Doors & Blinds

Terms & Conditions

Our goal is to make you fully satisfied with your purchase. This document explains what to expect during the design, production, and delivery process, and what needs to be prepared before delivery and installation.

1.Custom product acknowledgment

All iron doors we sell are customized products. Many components are fabricated or finished by hand. For that reason, the final product may have minor variations in texture, weld appearance, glass details, and finish compared to brochures, photos, samples, or other customers' prior installations. These variations are normal and are not considered defects.

2.Earnest money deposit due date

A fifty percent earnest money deposit is required to begin your order. The deposit must be received within five business days of the invoice date. If the deposit is not received within this timeframe, production timelines and availability may change, and we may place the order on hold or cancel the order.

3.Nonrefundable deposit once design phase begins

Because this is a customized product, the earnest money deposit becomes nonrefundable once the order enters the design phase. The design phase begins when we, or our factory, start producing shop drawings, engineering drawings, renderings, or any custom design work specific to your order, including revisions requested by the customer.

4.Design approval and customer responsibility

We will provide design drawings or specifications for review when applicable. You are responsible for reviewing and approving the drawings and confirming key details, including swing direction, hardware style, finish, glass type, and measurements. Any changes requested after approval may result in additional charges and timeline extensions.

5.Measurements and site conditions

Accurate opening measurements are critical. Unless we have provided written measurement services, the customer is responsible for confirming final measurements and job site conditions. If the opening is out of square, out of plumb, or otherwise nonstandard, additional installation materials or field adjustments may be required. These are not included unless stated in writing on the invoice.

6.Production and delivery timing

Estimated lead times are provided as an estimate only and can change due to fabrication schedules, customs clearance, freight conditions, and other factors outside our control. We will contact you when the product is ready to schedule delivery or pickup. The full process, including manufacturing and international transportation, typically takes approximately three months.

7.Balance due before release

Unless otherwise stated in writing on your invoice, the remaining balance is due upon arrival of the product. We will notify you when the product arrives and provides the final balance due. If payment is not received promptly after arrival, delivery or pickup may be delayed. Storage fees may apply if the product is held due to nonpayment.

8.Delivery, receiving, and inspection

Upon delivery or pickup, please inspect the door and crate for visible damage. Any visible shipping damage should be noted immediately and documented with photos. Failure to document damage at the time of delivery may limit the ability to file a freight claim.

9.Installation services and installer referral

We do not provide installation services. However, we have long-term relationships with local installers and can refer you to an installer upon request. Any referred installer is an independent contractor. The customer contracts directly with the installer, and the installer's work, scheduling, site preparation, and warranties are the installer's responsibility. We are not responsible for installation workmanship, job site safety, permitting, or code compliance.

10.Finish protection and touch up policy

During shipping and handling, it is possible that the paint finish may experience minor scratches or rub marks. This is common for freight transported metal products. We will provide touch up paint when applicable, and we may perform reasonable touch up before delivery or during the installation visit if coordinated with the installer. Touch up improves appearance, but an exact invisible match is not always possible due to curing, lighting, and surface texture.

11.Limited Warranty

Finish (paint or powder coat) is warranted for five (5) years from the delivery date. Door, frame, and factory welds are warranted for ten (10) years from the delivery date. Accessories and wear items (including door sweep, roller catch, and similar components) are warranted for one (1) year from the delivery date against defects in materials and workmanship only; normal wear and tear is excluded. At delivery, Customer will receive one bottle of touch up paint for minor finish maintenance and one spare adjustable roller catch plus one spare door sweep for future maintenance or replacement; these spare items are provided as convenience components. This warranty is void for damage caused by improper installation, misuse, negligence, accidents, contractor handling, corrosion, or any unauthorized repair, modification, or refinishing. Events beyond Company control including storms, flooding, hurricanes, and other Acts of God are excluded. Company's obligation is limited to repair or replacement of defective parts or components only. Labor, removal, reinstallation, and consequential damages are not covered. Warranty is void if the invoice is not paid in full or if inspection access is denied.

12.Job site preparation for delivery and installation

Please ensure there is a clear path for moving the door into the property and a secure, dry area for staging. Iron doors are heavy and can require multiple people or specialized equipment. The customer is responsible for protecting floors, walls, and surrounding finishes during moving and installation unless the installer's contract states otherwise.

13.Storage and handling

If the door will be stored before installation, it must be stored indoors in a dry environment and protected from moisture, chemicals, and construction dust. Improper storage can damage the finish and is not covered.

14.Changes, returns, and cancellations

Because the door is customized, returns are not accepted unless required by law or explicitly agreed in writing. Cancellations after the design phase begins do not qualify for deposit refunds as stated in Section 3. Any approved changes or re-fabrication after approval will be billed as a change order.

15.Customer communication and acknowledgment

Please keep all project communication in writing when possible, including approvals and change requests.

Payment Terms

  • 50% earnest money deposit required within 5 business days of invoice date.
  • Remaining balance due upon product arrival.

Order Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • After the earnest money deposit is received, if the customer cancels the order before the factory issues the design drawing, a $500 design and administrative fee will be deducted from the refundable amount, and the remaining deposit balance will be refunded.
  • Once the factory issues the design drawing, the earnest money deposit becomes nonrefundable due to the custom nature of the product.
